Zylia 3rd order microphone Localization test

Today, after a very long wait [about six weeks] my Zylia third order microphone finally turned up. I was interested to purchase this microphone in order to get higher order localization in ambient, environmental recordings, so the first thing I tried was to move around the microphone with a clear sound source, in this case a Tibetan singing bowl, and then to visualize that recording so I could see how accurate the localization was. I must say that I am impressed by what an enormous increase in localization there is between third order recording and first-order – really tremendous. I have not yet had time to test the noise floor of the microphone and other critical things - stay tuned for more videos soon.
